First Cider Makers of the year !

Last week Rob and Jim brought over their first ripe apples of the year to turn into apple juice at the Cider Museum.

The beginning of August !?!?

They are the gorgeous variety 'Beauty of Bath' which ripen very early - from July into September. They bruise easily and do not keep well so are suited to juice and home made cider production.

Using our Electric Crusher and Vigo Press they took an hour and a half to turn the five large containers into over 10 gallons ( 80 pints ) of dark pink juice, which was deliciously sweet, with a sharp edge to it.

A fun and successful start to the Cider Making Year !
