Cider Making Open Day 2017
Mill House Cider Museum rolled out the barrel on Sunday October 22nd for our annual Cider Making Open Day !
The main event of the day was being able to see apples being crushed and pressed the traditional way on antique equipment. Dave and Craig worked hard and used two methods - straw and cloths to filter the juice on different presses.
Another highlight was the steam engines - we had over 12 different working engines - doing everything from pumping water, crushing corn and even giving rides !
There was demonstrations of weaving, spinning, spoon whittling, and children could join in with clay modelling, pumpkin carving and making apple monsters !
We had a raffle and cake stall to raise money for RSPCA Taylors
